Certain business sectors require detailed privacy policies, such as, for example, healthcare, financial services, and the like, as such businesses collect and use sensitive consumer information. Since such websites and mobile applications can be accessed across multiple jurisdictions, properly drafted website terms and conditions along with privacy policy are highly advisable.
For example, in United States, states like Texas and California, require a website to contain a privacy policy if the website can be accessed by one of their residents. Similarly, in Asia, Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) establishes a data protection law that comprises various rules governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of personal data.
